Sorry.Ken Blaze-USA TODAY SportsSince the Alliance of American Football folded, the Minnesota Vikings have been bringing in all sorts of players from the league, and on Monday night they added another one.NFL Draft Diamonds is reporting that the Vikings are signing defensive Karter Schult to a deal.Schult played for the Salt Lake Stallions. . .our adopted team. . .in the AAF, and wound up third in the league with seven sacks in the Stallions’ eight games.Schult went undrafted out of the University of Northern Iowa in 2017, and spent the 2017 preseason with the Cleveland Browns. The Vikings actually invited him in for a tryout during the 2018 offseason, but ultimately decided not to sign him.As you can probably gather from his sack numbers, Schult was one of the better defensive linemen in the AAF. The folks from Pro Football Focus had him graded as the seventh-best edge defender in the league with an overall grade of 81.3.Schult is now the third player from the AAF that has signed with Minnesota, joining safety Derron Smith and cornerback Duke Thomas, both of whom played for the San Antonio Commanders.There’s really no harm in the Vikings taking a flier on Schult. He’s shown the ability to get to the passer, and that’s something you can’t have enough of in this league. Will be be able to crack the Vikings’ 53-man roster? "But he gets the business side. We've communicated clearly for the last week and he's been a great pro."Joseph added that Elway hasn't communicated any Thomas trade possibility to him: "Obviously, that's John's department and I'm sure he's getting calls and he's probably making calls.
