The test method used for vibration test systems depends on the performance indicators of the test system, such as nonlinearity, accuracy, resolution, error, zero drift, temperature drift and reliability.
After the above test system performance indexes are determined, the test method is selected according to the cost budget, human-machine interface, and the interface requirements between the measurement module and other modules. Here is an example of rotating equipment to illustrate the determination of the test method.
The testing of rotating equipment has its own special characteristics, which is demonstrated by the fact that the main object of testing is a rotating part, i.e. a rotor or a rotating shaft.
Common rotating equipment include: turbine generator sets, industrial gas turbines, compressors, fans, motors, pumps and centrifuges. They all consist of rotating parts and non-rotating parts. Rotating parts include: rotor and coupling connected to the rotor, etc.; non-rotating parts include: bearing, bearing seat, housing and foundation, etc.
