Nasa Blvd., Melbourne, will celebrate 50 years of supplying cameras, photo printing and more with a celebration from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.The local business has weathered the effects of an evolution from film to digital, catering to photographers ranging from the hobbyist to the professional. Its also weathered some personal problems, too. In preparing for the anniversary event, the store was robbed in early August. For the event on Saturday, there will be food, giveaways and discounts on certain items. Southern Photo will have some antique cameras on display as well as raffle off a camera, a news release states. If you want to take pictures with its canine mascot, Milk Dud, you can do so from 9 a.m. to noon. Lisa Fournier, president of Southern Photo, has owned and operated the store since 1990, the release states.
