REGINA -- The Grey Cup-champion Saskatchewan Roughriders released all-star slotback Weston Dressler on Thursday. The move wasnt a surprise. Dressler, 28, was scheduled to become a free agent Feb. 15 and was exploring his NFL options. Dave Naylor of TSN Radio 1050 confirms Dressler has agreed to join the Kansas City Chiefs, the team he worked out with earlier this month, pending a physical. Riders assistant GM Jeremy ODay said that could happen very soon. "Weston and his agent were very up front they were going to go through the process and we were made aware of a possible situation coming up in the next couple of days where Weston was more than likely going to get an opportunity," ODay told reporters. "From our standpoint its tough to lose such a good player thats been here for a long time, is a leader in the locker-room. "But again, youve got to feel happy for him that he gets that opportunity. He hasnt gone through the process of being in the NFL and as any competitor you just want to see how you compare with the best available players. We wish him the best." The five-foot-eight, 179-pound native of Bismarck, N.D., has spent the past six seasons in Regina, having registered 442 catches for 6,531 yards and 43 TDs. He has surpassed the 1,000-yard receiving plateau five times in his career, including the last four years. Dressler had five catches for a game-high 81 yards and a touchdown in Saskatchewans 45-23 Grey Cup victory over Hamilton. Dressler is a two-time CFL all-star and was the leagues top rookie in 08. "For the team obviously its not great news," ODay said. "But its our job to find good players and hopefully well be able to replace him." Giovani dos Santos Jersey . For the Bombers it has been a combination of things coming together at the most inappropriate moments in time. Quarterback, injuries, Canadian talent or depth and leadership are all issues. Trust me when I say being a Bomber is no fun right now in a city that embraces football the way Winnipeg does. While Buck Pierce will be getting another shot, I think Max Hall does deserve another opportunity. Javier Aquino Jersey .com) - Coming off a pair of tough losses last week, the Syracuse Orange will try to put an end to their first losing skid of the season when they pay a visit to the Maryland Terrapins at the Comcast Center on Monday night in Atlantic Coast Conference action. http://www.soccermexicojerseysteamstore.com/raul-jimenez-mexico-jersey/ . The shortstop still grieves, but it will be nights like the one Segura had in a 5-2 victory Monday over the Cincinnati Reds that will provide some distraction. Jesus Molina Jersey . The 31-year-old Russian dominated the No. 3-ranked Ferrer throughout, breaking the defending champion and local favourite four times on the indoor hard court. Andres Guardado Jersey . Murray, the defending champion and No. 3 seed, claimed his first match win at Queens in 2005 and went on to win the Wimbledon warmup three times. But he failed to take advantage of eight set points after leading the first-set tiebreaker 6-2, and Stepanek survived to convert with his second set point.NEW YORK -- The NFL hired 13 new officials for the 2014 season and promoted three veterans to referee.
