MONACO -- Sebastian Vettels season got even more frustrating on Sunday after the four-time defending Formula One champion spent most of the Monaco Grand Prix watching from the garage after car failure ended his race. Stephen Gostkowski Jersey . The German driver had already won two races by this stage last season, but this year he has only one third-place finish and is down in sixth overall behind Nico Hulkenberg and Daniel Ricciardo. Not helping matters, Vettels Red Bull teammate Daniel Ricciardo has back-to-back third places in Spain and in Monaco. The Australian driver seems much more at ease than Vettel with the engine regulation changes that came in at the start of the season. "I felt quite helpless in the car, so I was asking for an answer of what we could do, but there wasnt anything at that stage," Vettel said. "Its disappointing. I had a good start and then we lost boost pressure from the turbo, so I had no power and had to retire." Vettel moaned "come on guys" over the race radio when he was called into the pits, before changing tact with a more diplomatic "I mean youre trying everything." He had also complained of being "stuck in first gear," and team principal Christian Horner moved to reassure his star driver afterward. "First of all we have to apologize to Sebastian for an issue with his power unit," Horner said. "Its frustrating that, after making a good start, his race came to a very premature end." It is some contrast to last season, which Vettel rounded off with nine straight wins. He won 13 of 19 races and looked untouchable, retired only once -- at the British GP -- and finished on the podium 16 times as Red Bull crushed all the opposition. "We will move forwards, and it will be good for us soon," said Vettel, who also retired from the season-opening Australian GP. Ricciardo is nine points ahead of him heading into the Canadian GP in two weeks time. Duke Dawson Jersey . It looked like being another miserable day for Moyes when Ashley Westwood put Villa in front from a 13th-minute free kick. But Rooney headed United level seven minutes later, and the striker netted his 16th of the season for the struggling champions from the penalty spot before halftime. Donta Hightower Jersey . Even if he is shooting 38 per cent from the field overall this season, the Utah Jazz rookie always feels like his final shot is going in. http://www.patriotsauthenticshop.com/Patriots-Tom-Brady-Draft-Jersey/ . The San Antonio Spurs handled the conditions, and the team, and it sure helped when a suffering LeBron James couldnt make it to the finish.KITCHENER, Ont. -- Edmontons Val Sweeting advanced to the womens final on Saturday with a 9-7 win over Calgarys Cheryl Bernard in the Page playoff of the 2013 Capital One Road to the Roar Olympic pre-trial. Bernard gave up a steal of one in the sixth when her attempt at a raise takeout rolled too far, but she fought back with a deuce in seven to even the score at 5-5. Facing two Bernard counters with her last, Sweetings takeout attempt rolled out, allowing a steal of two. In the final end, tied 7-7, the same scenario replayed - in reverse. This time, Bernard had a shot for the win, but she rolled too far, allowing Sweeting to steal two for the win. "I felt like a cat out there with nine lives," said Sweeting. "We had a couple of chances, but they had some chances to put the game away. The steal was unfortunate, but we knew we could battle back. Get our deuce back and keep it close, and thats what we did." Sweeting will take on either Kelly Scott of Kelowna, B.C. or Renee Sonnenberg, of Grande Prairie, Alta. Those two teams will play in the first trials qualifying game later Saturday, with the winner going to Winnipeg and tthe loser facing Sweeting on Sunday. Montee Ball Jersey. "Weve never been in this position before," said Sweeting, who skipped Team Alberta at the 2010 Scotties Tournament of Hearts. "It feels good to be one game away. Were still in it and its totally in our control. Weve just got to play well." In mens C-Event semifinals, Brad Gushue of St. Johns, N.L., powered his way to an 11-4 win over Jake Higgs of Glencoe, Ont. The 2006 Olympic gold medallist went up 5-0 after scoring three in the first and stealing two more when Higgss final draw slid too far. The loss eliminated Higgs from competition. Gushue now faces Greg Balsdon of Elgin, Ont., in one of the C-Event finals Saturday afternoon. In an all-Ontario playoff, Balsdon controlled the game most of the way over Mark Kean of Ajax, winning 9-7. Rob Fowler of Brandon, Man., defeated Jean-Michel Menard of St-Romuald, Que., by a score of 6-4 and moves on to the C-Event final against Steve Laycock of Saskatoon, who lost 9-6 to Brad Jacobs on Friday night in the B-Event final.
