When you make an effort to 'isolate' muscles by performing single-joint Arm Up System physical exercises, you're actually creating a body that is non-functional and will probably be more prone to injury. Basically, you're getting a body that's a compilation of body parts, in place of a strong, functional unit that works collectively. Now if you really want to wind up limping about in a body bandaged-up with joint troubles, tendinitis, and extra body fat, then go ahead, continue attempting to concentrate on body parts. On the other hand, if you would rather have a slim, strong, injury-free, useful body that works as a perfect vigorous unit to execute multi-part activities (in sports or just daily tasks), then you need to swing your concentration away from muscle concentration.
Believe me, focusing on how well your body works will give you the benefit of a body that appears even better than it would have if you concentrated on muscle isolation. For example, take a look at the shape of any National football league wide-receiver, running-back, and even world-class sprinters. Trust me when I tell you that these athletes pretty much NEVER train for muscle concentration (their strength-coaches would not be crazy enough to let them), yet they're totally ripped to shreds!
One more benefit to getting away from the 'muscle concentration' mindset to a more 'complex movement' mindset is that you will find it much easier to lose body fat. The reason is that by focusing more on multi-joint multifaceted movements as opposed to single-joint muscle focus, you not only lose much more calories in every work-out, but you also raise your metabolic rate, and stimulate production of extra fat burning and muscle creating hormones like testosterone and growth hormone.
